Alarm System Interactive Features

04 Nov Alarm System Interactive Features

Thanks to our busy lifestyles, most of us do not spend a ton of time at home. Even on the weekends, we often have plans that prevent lounging around all day. And this is a cause for concern when it comes to home security. Long days out of the home equate to an empty home, leaving it vulnerable to undetected break-ins – unless it’s protected by a home alarm system.

Our Interactive Monitoring package includes a number of helpful features, including:

  1. Remote Access
  2. Geo-Services
  3. Instant Notifications
  4. Home Automation Features
  5. Mobile Apps

These features offer a variety of uses for every customer. Today, we’re specifically going to look at how these features help keep homeowners aware of their home while they are away, improving the home’s safety.

Just because you’re not home does not mean you can’t keep it safe. Security One’s interactive features are easy to use and give you the means to watch over your home at any given time, bringing your home security to a whole new level and making sure you have peace of mind.

Remote Home Alarm System Access

A key interactive feature that is popular with our customers, remote access allows users to access their home alarm system using a smartphone, tablet or PC, and includes the ability to arm and disarm.

This means that if you ever forget to arm your system – like when you’re in a rush – you have nothing worry about.

Location-Based Services

You need to check out Geo-Services. This feature, which can be very useful if you’re the forgetful type, automatically reminds you that your system is unarmed when you’re away.

How does it work? The Geo-Services creates a large, imaginary fence around your alarm system called a geo-fence. Using the GPS in your smartphone, it can detect when you’ve left the geo-fence and will automatically check your alarm system’s status. If it’s not armed, it will automatically send you a notification. It can also be used to further automate your home, but that’s best saved for a different post.

Announcements and Warnings at a Moment’s Notice

In addition to Geo-Service notifications, you can also receive notifications for practically any event — anytime a sensor is triggered or if your system is disarmed, for example. This is particularly useful in keeping tabs on a service provider, children or guests.

Thanks to instant notifications, you’ll know about anything that happens while you’re away from home.

Smart Devices, Smart Protection

Home automation is the talk of the tech industry these days, but Security One has been taking advantage of it since the company’s inception. And while home automation is generally regarded as a way to make life easier, it can also help protect your home.

Automated lights are especially useful since lights act as a burglar deterrent. Burglars don’t want to be seen, so have your lights turn on at scheduled times to ward off potential burglars.
